The Next Generation of Window Technology

Our primary challenge was to develop a Wordpress website that would display the endless possibilities of the product features. We wanted to design the website in a way so that it would be quickly consumable by each user. We also wanted the audience to connect with the brand and its products instantly in a manner that they assume themselves a part of their environment. The website needed to depict a story that placed them at the center, able to make them imagine slouching in their lazy boy chair controlling a remote control.

The challenge


Miru Corp is a leader in window technology, based in Vancouver, Canada. The team takes pride in having over ten years of experience in academic and industrial research. Founded in 2012, Miru Corp is revolutionizing the next-generation in electrochromic windows across residential, commercial, and automotive industries, enabling their users to control the amount of light and tint within their environment, using an app. This tool serves to control the energy, privacy and uplift the human experience.

The client aimed to rebrand with a company name that best describes the company vision and products they offer. Through extensive research and S.W.O.T. analysis, we developed various personas to reflect B2B, B2C in the 3 industry verticals of commercial, residential and automotive. Miru - to see, to watch, to view in Japanese, encompases the vision and revolutionary technology offered by our client’s brand. This directly links to their headline ‘Expand Your View’.

A playful approach to logo development focused on iterations of the letter “M” to evoke a sense of movement and transparency, which illustrates the app's capability to control the movement of light and dark rays through windows. Spaciously aligned, clean sleek font gives breath and structure to the logo, through a seamless design that announces futurism to best describe the company’s vision.


In order to better connect the consumer to the product; we built a tool to demonstrate the working of the product in varying percentages of lighting. We created a prototype of the product which displayed its use in various forms (i.e. car windows, office setting and homes), allowing the visitor to better capture the use and benefits of this technology.


Our team worked collaboratively with Click Materials to gain a thorough understanding of the product, which would lead us to make the right aesthetic choices in typeface, interactive buttons, supporting elements, imagery, and interactions to facilitate the telling of the product's offerings.

As a result, we opted for a customized approach and focused on structuring the website in a way that would make it simple to use. The clean and comprehensive design allowed the product renderings to do its part, ensuring the focus is directed towards the user experience. It was important to offer a seamless and comfortable experience to the users. Therefore, we developed a layout featuring multi-screens of varying sizes competent enough to be accessed through any network/system (phone, tablet, or desktop computer). This resulted in greatly improving the website's SEO ranking.


It was essential to tell the narrative of the client's product by developing 3D renderings (computer-generated images) that help the user visualize the varying tint degrees of the glass. A potential investor or consumer can therefore better comprehend how a technologically sophisticated product could accentuate the use of various spaces.

The user is

The use of this tailor-made tool allowed the user to control the opacity of the glass. This captured the true essence and benefits of the client's products. The virtual experience depicted the real environment mimicking how lighting can be controlled in space.

It was important to offer a seamless and comfortable experience to the users. We, therefore, developed a layout featuring multi-screens of varying sizes competent enough to be accessed through any network/system (phone, tablet, or desktop computer). This resulted in improving the website’s SEO ranking.

To ensure that the website was operating to our usual high standard, we monitored the website for multi-device browsers compatibility and provided 365-days aftercare support.


The prototype increased investor knowledge and buy-in. The website redesign reduced the bounce rate on key product pages and resulted in an overall increase in positive brand awareness and product inquiries. Month over month we noticed an increase in time spent on the website.
