Talesque Platform is a learning platform that delivers production level teaching experience to students. Talesque Platform has full-time professional instructors who have worked in the visual effects industry at studios like Disney Animation, Cinesite, Double Negative, MPC, Method, Dexter, Hydraulx and Scanline.
The challenge
For this project, we had to design Talesque’s website, and implement a LMS so that the clients' programmes and courses could be easily accessed and managed on the platform. We had to review a number of LMS platforms and choose the one most suitable for Talesque.
To make the website more personalized and cohesive, we had to use Cascading Style Sheets to customize the LMS’ fonts and colors.
Along with this, we had to use an e-commerce plug-in to manage the buying of courses, and connect the website with PayPal for payments.
We reviewed a number of LMS - Moodle, Wordpress plug-ins and EdX. After thoroughly analyzing our options we decided to implement LearnDash, a Wordpress plug-in, in order to enable the instructors to upload classes, and enable students to complete and submit exercises. Through this plug-in, students can also communicate with their instructors and the students also receive a designed certificate of completion when a course is completed. Along with this, we used the LMS to connect to their Google Suite.
For the sales side of the platform, we implemented a Wordpress plug-in called ‘Woocommerce’ to help manage the purchases of courses.
In order to make the site completely personalized, we ensured to use CSS to customize the fonts and colors to fit the brands colors and style
